Part of the NEW “POPULAR” EDITION OF THE TWO GREAT CLASSICS ON INDIAN ARMS AND ARMOUR FROM THE ROYAL COLLECTION: The collection is based on the gifts presented to Edward VII when he was Prince of Wales, on his visit to India in 1875-76. These were photographically recorded as displayed on the walls of the two buildings. Added to this are Asiatic, African & European weapons & war relics added at various periods to the Sandringham collection. This was the one and only attempt to record these significant items of arms & armour and royal heritage. The photographic quality in places varies due to the difficulties of photographing in their locations, but modern digital reproduction is very faithful to the originals.
