407pp., 24 colour & 41 b/w illus., 9 maps. 2018. After serving with Moore & planning the Corunna Campaign, Murray was appointed Wellington’s QMG.  He worked closely (if not always in agreement) with Wellesley in the successful actions that followed, including Oporto, Talavera and Busaco. He was one of only a handful who knew of the building of the massive Lines of Torres Vedras. After a respite at home in 1812 he returned to the Peninsula, successfully orchestrating the major battles into the Pyrenees.
