Ramsay Weston Phipps’ master work remains the standard work on the subject. For depth of coverage, detail and research it cannot be beaten. What is important is to have a decent edition. To this end we have re-introduced our own facsimile in a quality hardback edition and with a difference. This new edition contains additional tables which help sort out the incredible tangle of what Marshals/Generals served where and the continuous evolution of army names as the wars progressed. With additional material by Stephen Summerfield, 479pp., 8 maps, 4 tables. 2026.
